 The South African R31 Skyline

This site is an affiliate of the Australian R31 Skyline Club and is dedicated to the last Skyline model range built in South Africa.

This Skyline, codename R31 (SP in South Africa) was the 7th generation Nissan Skyline. 29 305 were produced and sold in South Africa from June 1987 to December 1992. As the body shell was based on the Japanese “taxi-spec” R31 Skyline, it was sold only in 4-door sedan configuration. A choice of three engines, two 6-cylinders and a 4-cylinder, were available, each with the choice of a 5-speed manual or 4-speed automatic gearbox. The 6-cylinder models had fully independent suspension front and rear.
